This is exactly what I’ve just done for the Brain Cutlery blog. The numbers aren’t anywhere near as impressive (it’s only month 2) but I agree it’s really useful to be thinking about what’s making your blog tick.

I think it’s essential to analyze your traffic at least once a month.

You got traffic from the keyword Beyonce? Genius. Very good.

I have tried and had some success getting traffic to the site using back door keywords, but the traffic isn’t really right for us but it is traffic though.

Is it good to get traffic when it leaves quickly seeing that the post wasn’t what they were expecting? Or will that leaving affect you in a bad way?

Yes, Beyonce… It’s from my series of posts “Learn Internet Marketing From…” But the traffic quality is poor: it’s coming from Google Images, and it’s not targeted.

  3. Tuan @ TechWalls

    Hi,
I don’t understand your Unique Visitors and Pageviews data. Why don’t you share screenshots from Google Analytics? It is easier to follow.

    1. Sté Kerwer

Tuan there was a problem with the scale on one of the graphs. It should be more clear now.

  4. Carolyn

Congratulations on your meteoric success. Well deserved, Ste!

Thank you Carolyn! Traffic is going to slow down in February since I’m decreasing my posting rate :)
