Leverage Success: Use It As a Stepping Stone

If I had to pick one message that I wanted to get out there to all the bloggers who are struggling to make money with their blog it would be this: Your avenues for success are unlimited. You can achieve whatever you want to achieve. All you have to do is understand that your blog is a business and like any other business it has to be built from the ground up, one success at a time. Focus on getting each step right and you’ll be building on your success.

Now, let’s break that down a little bit. First: Youre avenues for success are unlimited. If you’ve just started blogging you simply can’t imagine how many ways there are for you to make money with that blog. You just don’t have enough knowledge. I’ve been blogging for years and I still keep finding new ways to generate income with my blog. It’s a never ending learning process.

You might start using an affiliate link to promote an ebook. And that’s great. You’ll learn how to choose a good niche, how to research keywords, how to choose the best selling products, how to set up landing pages, and how to promote.

But after you’ve been successfully selling that ebook for a while you’re going to want more than that 15% commission and you’re going to learn how to write your own ebooks so you can keep it all. Now you’ll be raking in even more money. But you wouldn’t have been able to do that if you hadn’t already been successful. You probably wouldn’t have recognized the opportunity if you handn’t already been selling someone else’s ebook.

And now that you know how easy it is to write your own ebook and sell affiliate products, you’re ready to jump in and get your own affiliates and let them do the work for you. Again, you probably wouldn’t have recognized this income avenue if you hadn’t already had some success with it yourself.

Building a successful blog that produces enough long-term income to replace your fulltime job is a one-step-at-a-time process, with each step built on the successes of the step before. Once you learn how to do something it opens up the possbility to do something else. But each step has to be strong and sturdy before you can build another step on top.

Right now it might look like your only option is to be an affiliate and you’re wondering how other bloggers do it. It takes constant dedication to learning and building, learning and building. When you reach one plateau you look around and see where you can go next, then you learn what you need to know to make that next step successful. When you’ve reached the top of that step, you look around again.

As you learn you’re going to find that most bloggers have more than one income stream on their blog. They promote affiliate products, sell their own products, sell advertising, provide services to other bloggers, and the list goes on and on. But they didn’t develop these stream over night. They did it one step at a time, building on one successful step after another.

When you're learning how to make money with a blog, you need to understand that the very first step is to create a website. If you're interested in starting your own blog, I have written a step-by-step guide that will show you how to start a blog for as little as $3.49 per month (this low price is guaranteed only through my link). Yap, very true. It is a one step at a time process. You can’t really rush it, the best thing to do is to lay each brick as perfectly as it can be laid!

    1. Good words Victor! The process of developing a business online takes time and dedication. Don’t rush it, learn what you have to learn and you’ll get there!

Thanks for the encouragement. I often feel overwhelmed by all the things I could do with my blog. I’ll take your advice and take it one step at a time.

    1. It’s completely impossible to learn everything there is to know about online marketing. Even after 4 years in this business, I have barely scratched the surface. However, you don’t need to know everything to get started… Mistakes are completely acceptable!
