15 Tips For Those Who Want to Make Money Online
I get tired of reading those blog posts that give you tips for using Pinterest or tips for setting up a new blog. So this time I thought I’d give you just 15 kind of motivational tips to help you make money online. Nothing as specific as “Set up a Facebook fanpage.” Just a few things you can keep in the back of your mind for those days when you need some inspiration.
Treat it like a business, not a hobby
Yeah, blogging is cool. You can work whenever and wherever you want. But if you want to make a substantial, long-term income, then the keyword is “work.” This is a business and you have to treat it like one. And if you do, you’ll be well on the road to success.
If you want it, go after it and never give up. There are plenty of bloggers out there who started out just like you and now they’re making money. You can do it if you want to but you have to be tenacious.
You only set yourself up for failure when you set unrealistic goals and it’s unrealistic to expect you’re going to make $1,000 in your first month. Set smaller, more achievable goals so you can see your progress and you’ll be more motivated to stick with it for the long haul.
You’re working online and you think that since people can’t see you you can be anyone you want. Wrong. You have to put too much of yourself into your online business and sooner or later people are going to see the real you slipping through. You can never please everyone who visits your website so don’t even try. Save your energy and just be yourself.
Be willing to learn
There’s a lot you’re going to need to learn to build a successful online business and just when you think you know it all Google’s going to make a change or some software you’re using is going to become obsolete. Face it – you’re never going to be able to know it all. The more you learn, the stronger your business.
The most successful online businesses are those run by people who are creative, people who are able to think outside the box and create business opportunities instead of just waiting for them to happen.
Like I said, there’s always something new to learn and some of it can be pretty intimidating. But that which doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger, right? Be bold! You can do it!
You are going to fail
Get used to it – you’re going to fail. You’re going to fail more than once. You’ll probably fail a lot. But that doesn’t mean you won’t succeed. Failure doesn’t mean you have to quit. I just means you have to try again.
Never give up
Never, ever, EVER give up. Seriously? Success really is right around the next bend and you’ll never see it if you stop now.
Keep moving forward
Don’t let a failure or a bad day or a set back bring you to a standstill – it’s too hard to get started again. Always keep your eye on your next goal and keep moving forward.
Have a vision
Create a vision board if it helps you stay focused. Why do you want to make money online? How much money do you want to make? What will you do with it when you make it? Visualize your goals so you never forget what’s motivating you to succeed.
Have a plan
There are about a bajillion things you can do to make money online. Pick one and stick with it until you get it to work.
No man is an island
Don’t get so focused on your business that you cut yourself off from friends and family. Remember, the reason you wanted to make money online was so you could have more freedom in your personal life. Schedule it into your day if you have to.
You’re going to need help
At some point, maybe at a lot of points, you’re going to need help. Start connecting with other bloggers so you can share ideas and offer each other support.
Believe in yourself
Even though they love you and support you, it’s hard for your friends and family to have faith in you because they have no idea what you’re doing. But you know. And you know you’re driven to succeed. Don’t get discouraged. At the end of the day, look back at everything you accomplished, no matter how small. Each of those accomplishments moved you one step closer to your goal. Believe in yourself. You’ll get there.
