Search engines will love you for it!
If you have unique content on your site, search engines will love you. Unique content is right up there with what search engines love the most – so go out of your way to feed them with unique content, and they’ll go out of their way to reward you with top rankings.
Having duplicate content on your website gives search engines a bit of dilemma – why should they rank you over other sites that carry the same content? The answer is, they probably shouldn’t.
There are lots of occasions when duplicate content can be an issue. If you’re a bit of a PLR fanatic then you’ll find it’s near on impossible to rank a site that carries PLR content, unless it has been heavily modified. Likewise, if you run an e-commerce store and you use the generic manufacturer descriptions for your items, it’s highly unlikely that search engines will index your pages, let alone rank them highly.
You really should consider investing in unique content written especially for your website – the investment will pay off many times over in the future.
Users will love you for it too!
As well as pleasing search engines, you also need to remember that you have to please your visitors too. They don’t want to be reading them same old articles on every site they visit – they don’t want to be reading the same old boring manufacturer product descriptions every time they browse to a different e-shop. You need to keep your content unique to please visitors – don’t forget this.
Lots of people neglect this fact and they take PLR articles and spin them. Spinning is fine if it’s done by hand to ensure that it makes sense, but doing “one click” spins is always a bad idea, because the spun content is invariably a heap of junk.
Striking the balance is easy
At times when you’re dealing with content it can be hard to strike the balance between what search engines want, and what your users want. When it comes to unique content however both search engines and visitors want to see it – so it’s fairly obvious that it’s something you should be looking into.
There are lots of pieces of software out there that claim to be able to generate unique content, there are also a lot of companies selling PLR writing too. The best advice you can take when it comes to these kinds of software and PLR packages however is to shun them, and spend your money on outsourcing your content instead. That way your content will be 100% unique, and written especially for you.

It seems that unique content is a necessity today. But it also seems that is very hard to get new content noticed by the search engines as well.
Hi Dave, I do agree with you that it’s hard to get new content noticed by search, but not so when one considers publishing unique content.
Great article. I like how you spoke to PLR and staying away from those practices and outsourcing, instead. Good for you :)
It also worth noting that publishing unique content helps you build corporate and personal credibility thus positioning yourself as a thought leader in your niche.
Google loves content that goes viral Writing articles while keeping these points in mind shall direct spiders in going viral. SO we should post unique and informative articles.
Hi Becca, you actually have a good point. We should always post unique and informative articles. Through this you would be thinking of the search robots plus having in mind that the content you are writing is to be consumed by humans.
Thanks.
As you said, unique and quality content is paramount for succes but is getting harder and harder to create good content.
