Email Marketing Campaign: Is it Superior to Social Media Marketing?

Everyone who has created their own site online would like to know more about marketing. What methods work best? What is easiest? What will drive traffic and sales? The two most common types of marketing that are often debated are social media and email. This is because many people mistakenly believe that they must choose one or the other to be successful. This leaves them looking to others to tell them which is the best and what they should choose. In reality, it is not a simple black and white question. There are many variables that should be considered.

Social media is huge among users at the moment. It continues to rise every day with social networks gaining members by the minute. Many people believe this rush of people to these sites make them an opportune place for marketing a website. Because of this, these sites are being flooded with pages about every new business that is created. The truth is that social media is an excellent way to market your website. You do have the power to reach many people and they have the power to continue to share your site with their friends and family. It is a powerful tool that is still being explored. Even with its popularity, it is still fairly new and hasn’t been proven that effective.

On the other hand, email marketing has been around for a long time. People have used email campaigns to turn visitors into paying customers since before social media was even created. As a matter of fact, email marketing is one of the most effective methods of marketing that you will find. It may not have the pizzazz of social media, but many would say that if it isn’t broken it doesn’t need to be fixed.

That said, there still is no definite answer to which is best. They both have advantages and each of them works differently for different people. Some have huge success in the social realm while others find email is their best tool. The basic fact is that you do not have to choose. When you are faced with two options that are successful on their own, why not combine them and see the success it brings? This gives you the chance to utilize both and see which one is more profitable for you. You have lost nothing doing it this way and you just may have gained a lot.

When it comes to social media and email marketing, you have an excellent choice with fairly good odds. You can go with new and current or tried and true. Either way you will see some success. If you choose to utilize both of these options then you find even more success. Send out your email campaign and then sign up for social networking sites. This gives those that are looking for you an easier time trying to find you and gives you a reliable way to connect with those who have already been found.

This is an excellent post. Thank you.

I have been wondering in the past what is the difference between Email Newsletter vs. Worpress Blog coz you know you can get subscriber too just by blogging. The moment they make a comment in your blog and when you replied to them it sends the reader an email from your blog where they made a comment from. I’ve been thinking I should follow up with my readers by using an Email Newsletter, but why?

Also, I heard Aweber too and you’re right about that they’re offering the $1 trial. Some of my friends used it and liked it. I should give it a try. My question is if my WordPress blog can collect subscribers why do I need an email newsletter? They can get all the updates there just by subscribing to my blog. What do you think?

Angela, using the emails you got from blog comments and blasting them a newsletter or updates from your blog is not only illegal but extremely irritating for the reader. He just wanted to leave a comment, he didn’t sign up to get an email every time you have something to say. When it happens to me, I directly report the blogger as spam.
