Unused Shortcodes: How To Get Rid Of Them In Your Blog Posts

StevenWordPress

Every advanced user of WordPress makes extensive use of shortcodes. They are a great way to save a lot of time by adding some functionality to your blog.

The problem is that they stay in your posts content when you stop using them. However, here is a quick way to fix this by removing unused shortcodes from your posts.

To get rid of unused shortcodes in your WordPress blog posts, you should run the following query on your WordPress database:

UPDATE wp_post SET post_content = replace(post_content, '[shortcode]', '' ) ;

Keep in mind that you should replace [shortcode] with the shortcode you want to delete.

Warning: Don’t forget to make a backup of your MySQL database before running this kind of command.
