Monthly Traffic Report – May 2011
Dukeo being a live case study, it’s important to keep track of traffic stats to follow the growth of this blog. I share the REAL stats of this website copied directly from Google Analytics.
Use these traffic reports to keep an idea of the kind of traffic you can generate over time when starting a blog from scratch, without leveraging any other web property.
Unique Visitors and Pageviews
Let’s start with some general data about this month traffic: unique visitors and pageviews. These two indicators are the most commonly used in web statistics. Every webmaster know how many unique visitors he is receiving monthly as well as the number of page impressions. Here is Dukeo’s data for this month:
You can see that the number of visitors has grown once again, this time by almost 1500 unique visitors. I have not been able to reach my goal of 150 unique visitors per day for May because I didn’t find time to make guest posts for other blogs, but I wasn’t missing much to reach my goal (only 50 unique visitors). Let’s set a new goal for next month to reach an average of 200 unique visitors per day!
The great news of this month is that I have been able to get over 10,000 pageviews! Maybe I should celebrate? Well, not yet… Let’s work harder next month to grow these numbers even bigger! The growth in both unique visitors and pageviews have accelerated during May and I hope it will increase even faster during June!
Here is a general overview of the sources where dukeo’s traffic has been coming from during the past month.
There was no big change regarding traffic sources this month. As I had planned, I dropped my advertising campaign with BuySellAds and it didn’t have any impact which confirms that the campaign was worthless. The most noticable change that occured this month was probably due to being featured on Affbuzz.
Top 5 Traffic Sources
Wondering what are the top 5 traffic sources of dukeo.com? Here comes the answer.
There has been a significant growth in traffic from Feedburner. This is mostly due to the traffic coming from AffBuzz which is included in Feedburner since it is using feeds to update automatically.
The percentage of traffic coming from Google didn’t change much, it’s still around 10%. I was expecting to see a higher percentage of my traffic coming from Search Engine but this is actually a positive thing. It means that I am not relying on a single big traffic source…

The number of visitors who searched for “dukeo” to come to this blog has almost doubled this month. This means that I must definitely be doing something good in growing my brand! As you can see, the second keyword is “affiliate paying”. This is probably due to Affiliatepaying.com losing most of his rankings on Google, which made Dukeo stand in the first and second positions for this keyword.
Last month I was adding some interesting information by saying that the number of keyword which brought traffic to dukeo had almost doubled by going from 166 in March to 329 in April. For the month of May, this number went up to 520, which is a 190 increase. More and more keywords are getting traffic to Dukeo… I can’t wait to see next month stat!
