Dukeo being a live case study, it’s important to keep track of traffic stats to follow the growth of this blog. I share the REAL stats of this website copied directly from Google Analytics.
Use these traffic reports to keep an idea of the kind of traffic you can generate over time when starting a blog from scratch, without leveraging any other web property.
Unique Visitors and Pageviews
Let’s start with some general data about this month traffic: unique visitors and pageviews. These two indicators are the most commonly used in web statistics. Every webmaster know how many unique visitors he is receiving monthly as well as the number of page impressions. Here is Dukeo’s data for this month:
As you can see, the traffic numbers for February 2012 are smaller than previous month. However, there is nothing alarming because this month is 2 days shorter than January. In terms of Unique Visitors per day, it’s been constant during January and February. Only the pageviews significantly decreased.
Here is a general overview of the sources where dukeo’s traffic has been coming from during the past month.
The share of traffic coming from search engines decreased once again. The traffic type that strongly increased is Referred traffic. I’ve made some significant posts this month that received extremely positive feedback. This probably accounts for the referred growth.

Dukeo’s homepage has been viewed almost 900 times less than previous month!
Moreover, the top 10 pages have been generally viewed less than previous month, which tends to show that the traffic is spread on more pages. This is usually better as it makes it less likely to have a page totally de-indexed from search engine and see a huge drop in traffic in a single month.
I must add that the number of pageviews for my post about Bounce Rate is really impressive, especially because it’s only a few days old and it completely crushed it.
I can’t wait to see next month’s stats!
