Business Productivity: How To Increase Yours

When it comes to business you are only as successful as you are productive. If you are actively producing any work then you will see no rewards from your effort. This is also true in the online business world. The difference is that it is often difficult to keep yourself productive. Other obligations may stand in the way and prevent you from accomplishing your goals. When you want to increase the productivity of your business there are a few simple tasks you should remember.

increase your business productivity

  1. Always put in more effort: The fact is that running your own business can mean you skimp in some areas. If something comes up it is quite easy to get distracted and fail to do your work as you need to. This little bit of laziness can harm your business. That is why you need to always focus on putting out as much effort as possible. The more you put into a task, the more you will get out of it.
  2. Keep checklists: You may not be a fan of checklists, but they can truly be a lifesaver in a business day. If you have a list of what you and the rest of the staff need to accomplish it is much simpler to keep track of. You will simply mark off those things that you have finished as they get done. These lists can keep you focused and ensure that you stay on the tasks at hand and not drifting off into distraction.
  3. Be open to advice: It is hard from time to time to take advice and criticism from someone else. Yet, you have to acknowledge that there are some who simply have more knowledge and experience than you do. If you are willing to accept advice and criticism from others then you can always work to improve your own business. They are there to help, not harm you.
  4. Learn from your mistakes: One of the biggest wastes of time is when you keep making the same mistakes repeatedly. You are spending time on something that you should have learned from and moved on. Rather than spend your time repeating the past, take the time to learn what caused the mistake and how to avoid it in the future. You can teach this lesson to your employees as well to increase their productivity.
  5. Take advantage of networking and marketing: Productivity means that you want to see more result for your work. While a lot of that is focused on the actual work you do, there is more to it than that. You also have to get others involved. This is accomplished by networking and marketing your business. If you do this all of the time then you will find that your business achieves more in a quicker time span.

If you are struggling with productivity in your business, you are not alone. Many people have this same problem. Taking advantage of the tips available will help you so that you can be more productive and see more results.

Hey! It looks really great around here! I thought I read on Twitter that the new layout wasn’t being released till Jan 29th? Well, either way, congrats, everything looks really cool!

    1. I published it by accident a few days early. And I didn’t want to roll back to previous theme :)

Whoa! New site looks sweet, bro. And I’m totally digging this post. Lord knows I’ve been slacking my ass off, but this post makes me really wanna get back on track. Thanks!

Oh heavens, I don’t know what in the world I would do without my checklists. I must make like three different lists at different times each day, it’s the only way I can keep track of things! Plus, there’s something that is just so so satisfying when you get to cross something off of the list, like you are seeing you progress and how much you’ve done, it’s such and accomplished feeling.

Oh my gosh, me too! I can’t live without checklists, in fact I’m pretty sure that if I didn’t use them I would never get anything accomplished. It’s funny how once something becomes routine, it’s like you can’t do things any other way!

Exactly! I don’t think I could do it any other way at this point, I’m stuck with checklists being the only thing that will successfully keep me on top of what I need to be doing!

If we don’t learn from our mistakes, we cannot continue to grow and improve. It’s interesting that so many people forget that.

    1. I agree to that. Some people keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

It’s very important to do the right conclusions after making any mistakes. When we do something wrong, we should always understand that this is our experience and we should take as much as possible from it

All of these are valid and extremely useful points. One of the most important on there I think is networking and marketing, not only necessarily for productivity, but for the success of your blog or business in general. This is just one more thing that will help you to learn and grow.

Just one more reason that I need to get with the program and learn to network like a pro.

This goes very well with the last post you made (which I think may be my favorite) about procrastination. Your business is only going to grow and be productive if you yourself grow and be productive. The only way you will anything come out of it is if you put all of yourself into it. What a great message!

Your business is going to be a reflection of yourself. It will only be as great as you push for it to be. I agree 100%.

I think the one about taking advice is crucial. I’m never to proud to listen to other people’s suggestions. I know that I need help, and that others may have had experiences that I can learn from. If there’s a way for me to learn from people who have learned from experience, then I’m going to do that.
