Blog Level Up: How To Go From Average To A-List
If you’re just starting out with blogging, it’s understandable if you’re a little intimidate by the “big players“: the A-List bloggers you admire. You might think, “How is my tiny little blog ever going to reach that level?” Guess what? Those A-List bloggers you look up to were once in the same position you’re in now. Keep at it, and you too can be one of the big players the new guys look up to.
Know that it takes time and effort
The truth is that anyone can create an A-list blog, but it does take some time and effort. Popular blogs are not created overnight and they can take months or even years to generate a significant following. You will have to put forth a lot of effort to get it off of the ground meaning that you will have write, research, and do a lot things on your own until you can see the results.
Create a high quality website
If you want to be taken seriously then you should definitely have a functional, professional looking blog. If you do not know how to write code for a website, then you should use a template or just hire someone to make the website. Either way, the finished product should have all of the capabilities you want and it should be designed for easy navigation and editing.
Realize that content is king
At the end of the day, a blog is only as good as the content on it. If the your articles and blog posts are not up to standard, then your blog will be the same way. Put some effort and research into your writing because that is still what people will remember at the end of the day. Your content should be top notch and just as good as any of the other popular blogs in your niche.
Network with other bloggers
Since the Internet is a social environment, then you should be that way too. Obviously, you do not want to feed your competitors, but you should instead create strategic partnerships that benefit both parties. You may want to do some guest posts, link exchanges, or cross promotional events with some other bloggers that are similar to you.
One of the main differences with A-list blogs is that they actually post regularly. You should create a posting schedule and stick to it to create a dedicated audience that knows what they can expect from you. At the very least, you should be posting about 2-4 times per month.
Determine your monetization strategy
Although you may think it is easy to earn money from a blog, it actually takes some thought and consideration. All blogs are not alike and their audiences tend to vary greatly. You have to determine what types of products and services your audience would be willing to buy, how much they will pay, and if the amount is sustainable for you. A lot of blogs are monetized using affiliate marketing, advertisements, or through the sales of products and services.
