Blog Earnings Report – March 2011
Dukeo is a blogging live case study. My first goal is to share everything I learned by working in Internet Marketing.
Another goal of this blog is to show that you can still start a blog from complete scratch in 2011 even when you are a nobody and make your way to becoming one of the big blogs in your industry.
A part of this experiment is monetization. Is it still possible to make money from a blog? Is it possible to reach a five-figures income from a blog in less than 12 months?
Follow Dukeo’s Blog Earnings Reports and you will get an answer to both these questions!
Here is Dukeo’s income breakdown for last month:
- Direct Advertising Sales: $100
- Paid Reviews: $50
- Affiliate Commissions: $50
- Contextual Links: $0.98
- Total: $200.98
If you take the blog income and and divide it by the blog’s page views you will get a site wide eCPM of $23.38. That means for every 1000 page views, this blog makes about $23.38, or 2.3 cents per view. This number has almost doubled since last month!
Being able to hit $200 income on a 2 months old blog is pretty nice. This is almost 400% last month’s income! Making my first affiliate sale through this blog for HostGator has been pretty exciting too.
I also started selling advertising space on Dukeo. For now the ads are pretty cheap so I would advise you to buy some while you still can!
Time to get back to the grind! Stay tuned.
