As hard as you may try to make people acknowledge your website, plenty of them will simply forget about it as soon as they close the tab in their favorite browser. If your website provides some value, I will most likely stick around and I will return on a regular basis, but if it’s not, I will definitely leave and never look back!

Here is a list of the 7 most important reasons that might turn away your readers:
- A far too complicated domain name: Be cautious when you are picking your domain name, there one chance on a million that I will be able to remember your website url if it is:
mywebsiterockscomparedtoalltheother.com. - A dull template which everyone else is using too: If you are using one of these dull templates that you can find on every wordpress theme website on the internet, you are shooting yourself in the foot.
- A bad headline: You want to make it very clear from the very start for your readers to figure what your website is about. Something along these lines: “My personal blog” is not going to take you anywhere.
- Horrible content: If your website content is awful, I won’t stick around. That’s what your readers are coming for in the first place!
- Bad navigation: If there is too much clutter on your website and it makes it next to impossible to find what you are looking for, the user experience is going to be terrible.
- Not enough updates: Proving quality updates on a regular basis is one of the key features to get your visitors to return. If you provide updates once a month to say what you ate for lunch, I doubt anyone will come back next time (except maybe your old aunt).
- Nothing which makes you stand out: Even if you did put a little effort in having a decent design and posting regular updates, your readers will probably forget about your website if you don’t provide anything that makes you stand out of the crowd.
If you try to avoid these 7 mistakes, you are one step closer to getting recurring visitors and growing your audience!

All the points you mention here are genuine and the last one is the most prominent one. Though we did everything good, how will you expect somebody to return if your blog does not provide something unique service? Hmm.. needs to think more about it.
