7 Reasons Why Google AdSense Rocks
There are some marketers out there who wouldn’t touch Adsense with a ten-foot pole and there are others who swear it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Personally, I’m all for it, as long as you understand how to use it, and I use it on a few of my own blogs. But that’s another story. For now, let’s take a look at seven reasons why I think Google Adsense rocks.
It’s Easy To Set Up
If you have a Google Gmail account then you can instantly set up an Adsense account and be on your way. In a matter of minutes you can have ads on your blog. I’ve joined other networks that want lengthy applications and make you wait days or weeks for approval. Who has time for that? And once you have an Adsense account you can use it across all of your sites. Just set up a new ad, plug in the code, and move on.
Consistent, Reliable Payments
I’ve also had to fight about payouts with a few different ad networks over the years, and many times I came out the loser. Adsense pays consistently on time every month and they always pay the correct amount. You can even have your payments directly deposited into your bank account.
Targeting Gets Easier and Easier
With Google’s intuitive search algorithms it’s even easier to get relevant ads. If visitors are logged into their own Gmail accounts when they hit your blog they’ll see ads that relate to their most recent Google searches, whatever the niche. If they’re not logged in, they’ll see ads that are relevant to the keywords you use on your site. Either way, the visitor is always going to see an ad that’s relevant and interesting.
I don’t always want a big, flashy banner ad, sometimes text links are more appropriate for the site. With Adsense you can customize fonts, font colors, backgrounds, and even allow or disallow those flashy banners. The choice is yours and you can change it up from site to site.
Over the years Adsense has been consistently one of the top paying ad networks. Of course, a lot of this depends on your site and your content, but assuming you understand how it works you’ll generally earn more with Adsense.
Plenty of Advertisers
Bloggers who sell direct ads will tell you they’re constantly moving those ads around, or they install software that automatically rotates the ads. Your visitors quickly develop ad blindness, especially your repeat visitors, so having the same ad in the same position quickly becomes less and less effective. Adsense, on the other hand, has plenty of advertisers bidding on that space so there’s no shortage of fresh, interesting new ads.
Eliminates The Guess-Work
I don’t know about you but I’ve seen more than my fair share of questionable affiliate products. Sometimes I’m afraid to use their links on my blog because I just don’t think that sales page is going to convert. You can do a lot of research, or you can just take your chances, or you can eliminate the guess-work, let Google handle it and just use Adsense. With Adsense it doesn’t matter if the sales page converts or not – you get paid when your visitor clicks the ad. Let the advertiser worry about his own conversions.
